Frequently asked questions

What does Solas mean?

Solas (n. masc. /sɔLəs/) means light in Gaelic.

What happens if the weather is bad (rain, wind etc)?

Unfortunately, we can't fly in rainy, foggy or windy conditions. We often rebook if the event is movable or try perform ground photography and videography. You won't be charged for any services that have to be cancelled due to weather.

What is combined photography and videography?

It means you can request photos or videos from the same shoot. Sometimes clients want photos from a drone for example for inspection as opposed to a video. We discuss in advance the ideas for the project.

Do you offer first-person view (FPV) drone flying?

Currently, we don't offer first-person view (FPV) drone flying / filming.

What drone / equipment do you use?

We focus on flying drones that are less than 250 grams. This gives us the most flexibility and cost effectiveness. Our current most used drone is the DJI Mini 4 Pro.
